I have a moldy FM2 that I try to restore. After fixing the shutter, I am trying to fix the mirror mechanism: I can't cock it but I can't find what's wrong with it (the mirror is down and loose). Please help :-(

Can someone help with this one? How do I cock the Nikon FM2n mirror?
Thanks

Is the mechanism of the mirror really broken or is the mirror stuck at the top because of gummy seals?

It is not stuck - it lost its tension and lies in the down position. I can easily move it when touching it.
