Minolta Auto Winder G sticks on

The winder works, but after a shot is fired, the winder keeps trying to wind for several cycles before shutting off (or until I cycle the power manually). The problem goes away after I've used the winder a few times, but then comes back after I let it sit for a while. Anyone have any ideas as to why the winder won't shut off immediately? Thanks. The sound appears to be only in the winder. I always turn it off in case it is doing some damage so I don't know if it will turn off by itself.
