I have an XA2 on which the operation of the shutter button is unpredictable. Quite often rather than the shutter operating when the button is depressed, it operates when the button is released. I have worked the shutter repeatedly with no film to try and fix it and then it sometimes operates normally.

I have tried dismantling the camera but cannot get the little red plate out. I think it must have been epoxied in. I am wondering if I can use something like a Dremel to cut it out and then make a new one. I have dismantled an XA in the past so have an idea how it should all go.

The XA2 takes good photos so it would be nice to fix it.

Thanks
Russell
