I recently received a Yashica FX-3 from someone on freecycle, and I'm quite excited to have something with a little "character" to alternate with my Nikon digital.

The problem is, there are some scratches on the sensor.
I got an estimate from a repair shop for about $70, but I'm wondering if there's anyway I could replace it myself if I had a parts camera.

Alternately - I may be getting another one that has a good sensor, but the film advance is not working.

I'm wondering how hard it is to swap out parts?

Probably very stupid questions, I know.

This is a very simple basic camera.

What do you mean by the "sensor"?
