i bought a Minolta XG9 off ebay and the desciption said it was in good working order but had been sitting in a closet for years. the shutter release is half way out and wont advance and the mirror is just hanging there is there a way to easily fix it or does it need professionally fixed.

XG series suffers from leatherette shrinkage and electro-problems. Remove the bottom plate and trip the shutter release cam, then try a new battery.
